On November 15, a truly touching meeting took place at the East Kazakhstan Regional Library for Children and Youth. The occasion was the release of the second part of the book "Skvoz' prizmu dokumenta/Through the prism of the document" by researcher, archivist, and local historian Irina Vasilyevna Durnovo, who this year celebrated her 70th anniversary.
In the theatrical fragment that opened the event, guests saw a young Irina, a university graduate, who came to work at the East Kazakhstan State Archive, as it turned out, for the rest of her life. The event participants, including well-known figures of the region—A.A. Aubakirov, N.S. Matveeva, G.N. Pussep, I.B. Kalanchina, and others — along with colleagues, friends, and students of Irina Vasilyevna, shared many warm words. Everyone noted that I.V. Durnovo embodies the qualities of a true archivist and local historian. Her books are a call to future generations to carefully preserve the documentary heritage of our region and its history. The honorable right to cut the red ribbon and unveil the new book was granted to the director of the East Kazakhstan State Archive, S.N. Rakhmetov. Throughout the event, songs were performed by the vocal ensemble "Tovarki."
