
On August 30, 1995, the current Constitution of Kazakhstan was adopted at a national referendum.In the first article of the Constitution, the Republic of Kazakhstan proclaims its highest values to be the Human Being, his life, rights and freedoms. Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan are guaranteed equality of rights and freedoms regardless of race, nationality, gender, language, social, property and official status, social origin, place of residence, attitude to religion, beliefs, membership in a public association, as well as previous criminal punishment. Any form of discrimination against citizens is prohibited.
Everyone who lives on Kazakh soil must respect and observe the Basic Law of the country. Every resident of Kazakhstan must be confident in justice, legality, equality and their future. The basic principles of development of society and the state, guarantees, rights and obligations of a person, citizen and subject of state power are clearly enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
