The ENPF reminds everyone to apply for pension payments in a timely manner.
The ENPF regularly conducts outreach campaigns on the need to promptly apply for pension payments, both for beneficiaries and for the heirs of deceased individuals with savings in the ENPF.
Every year, the ENPF verifies with the State Corporation "Government for Citizens" the status of individuals who have reached retirement age and who have pension savings through mandatory pension contributions (MPCs) and mandatory professional pension contributions (MPPCs) to the ENPF and who have not applied for their payment through the ENPF. This verification check confirms that these individuals have pension payments for old age, length of service, and the state basic pension payment assigned from budgetary funds in the information system of the authorized body in the sphere of social protection.
Since March of this year, a no-application procedure for pension payments through voluntary pension contributions (VPC) has been introduced for individuals who have reached retirement age and have pension savings in the ENPF through VPC, including those who have not applied to the ENPF for payment due to reaching the age of fifty or disability. This procedure also requires an annual reconciliation with the State Corporation "Government for Citizens."
Based on the results of the annual reconciliation, the ENPF makes pension payments to recipients proactively (without an application) through the State Corporation. This means that pensioners receiving a pension from the state budget begin receiving payments from the ENPF if they have pension savings formed through the OPV, OPPV, and VPC.
Statistics
As of May 1, 2026, the total amount of unclaimed pension savings in individual pension accounts (IPAs) for accounting for the mandatory pension contribution (MPC) of 279,041 individuals who have reached the generally established retirement age is approximately 45 billion tenge. Of this amount, according to information obtained by the ENPF from government information systems, the following are true:
- 155,217 individuals are deceased, and their pension savings can be claimed by their heirs;
- 61,459 individuals have registered for permanent residence outside the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the established procedure;
- 62,365 individuals have not yet applied to the State Corporation (PSC at their place of residence) to apply for their old-age pensions.
How to receive pension payments?
As a reminder, pension savings are recorded in the individual pension account of depositors (recipients) in the ENPF. They continue to be invested and remain in the individual pension account of depositors until they are claimed by the recipients or their heirs (in the event of the recipient's death).
Upon reaching the generally established retirement age
To receive pension payments from the ENPF upon reaching retirement age, as well as to receive a basic and solidarity pension from the state budget, recipients must contact the State Corporation "Government for Citizens" (TsON) at their place of residence.
If a recipient has pension savings in the ENPF through the DPV, for which they have not previously applied to the ENPF (due to reaching the age of fifty or disability), they will also be assigned pension payments from the ENPF through the DPV.
Upon leaving for permanent residence
Foreigners and stateless persons who have permanently resided outside the Republic of Kazakhstan and who have pension savings in the UAPF may exercise their right to pension payments from the UAPF upon leaving the Republic of Kazakhstan for permanent residence, unless otherwise provided by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and international treaties ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In connection with the death of a person with pension savings
In the event of the death of a person with pension savings in the UAPF, their UAPF family members receive a one-time funeral payment from the deceased person's pension savings, up to an amount equal to 94 times the monthly calculation index established for the relevant financial year by the law on the republican budget, but no more than the funds available in the deceased person's individual pension account.
Pension and targeted savings are also inherited in accordance with the procedures established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Within six months of the death of a person with savings, their heirs must contact a notary to register the deceased person's savings and obtain a certificate of inheritance. If the deadline is missed, they must apply to the courts to restore their inheritance rights.
A list of required documents for receiving pension payments, depending on the type of pension payment and the method of application, is available on the enpf.kz website in the "Services - Pension Payments" section.
