    Kazakhstan Strengthens Cooperation with GRECO

    Strasbourg, 8-12 June 2026 – A representative of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs participated in the 103rd Plenary Meeting of the Council of Europe's Group of States against Corruption (GRECO).

    During the session, GRECO member states discussed the implementation of anti-corruption recommendations, the enhancement of national corruption prevention mechanisms, as well as current trends in international cooperation in this field.

    On the margins of the meeting, the Agency's representative held a number of working meetings with foreign delegations. The parties exchanged experiences on the implementation of GRECO recommendations, improving the effectiveness of civil service systems, and strengthening the principles of integrity and transparency in public administration.

    Consultations were held with GRECO President Mr. David Meyer and GRECO Executive Secretary Ms. Livia Stoica Becht regarding preparations for their forthcoming visit to Kazakhstan to participate in the international forum «GovHR Forum 2026: People. Prospect. Public Value in the Age of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence», which will take place in Astana on 19 June 2026.

    Representatives of the Council of Europe’s Economic Crime and Cooperation Division discussed prospects for further cooperation, including expert-level engagement, the exchange of best practices, and the participation of Kazakhstani specialists in relevant Council of Europe activities.

    Participation in the plenary meeting provided an opportunity to familiarize with contemporary approaches adopted by GRECO member states in implementing anti-corruption policies and strengthening integrity mechanisms within the public sector.

    Following the meetings, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation aimed at enhancing anti-corruption practices and exchanging advanced international experience.
