Kostanay Region's Akim (Governor) Kumar Aksakalov visited the construction site of the "Octopus" aquapark. Along with the head of the region, the facility, which will become the country's largest indoor aquapark, was also inspected by active youth representatives of the region.

"The region's economy is developing in all directions. This includes industry, agriculture, construction, transport, and small and medium-sized businesses. In the manufacturing sector, new enterprises, factories, and plants are being built. This year, a plant for producing auto components for passenger cars will begin operations in the region, creating 800 new jobs. A decision has also been made to build another similar plant, which will provide jobs for another 800 people," noted the head of the region.

In the near future, the "Confectionery Capital" factory will also be launched, creating 260 new jobs. In the city of Kostanay, a large pasta factory with a capacity of 40 thousand tons of products per year will be built on the basis of the "Kaizen" plant. In the city of Lisakovsk, construction of an oil extraction plant is underway.

In agriculture, commercial dairy farms, feedlots, and processing workshops are actively developing. The construction industry also maintains high growth rates. This year, it is planned to commission 520 thousand square meters of housing.

Over the past three years, the population of Kostanay city has increased by 13.2 thousand people. This is a result of the region's economic development. New public spaces and recreation areas are appearing in the city. The construction of Marriott, Novotel, and Holiday Inn hotels is planned. An airport hotel will open in the coming days.

"Along with economic development and the opening of new factories and plants, places for family recreation for residents should also appear. Kostanay Region should have its own unique attractions for guests. One such feature will be the country's largest indoor aquapark, 'Octopus'," emphasized Kumar Aksakalov.

In accordance with the President's instructions on developing mass sports and strengthening the nation's health, the amount of sports infrastructure in the region is increasing.

Over the past three years, more than 30 sports facilities have been commissioned in the region: 18 fitness and wellness complexes, 8 sports halls, 4 indoor hockey rinks, 2 stadiums, an equestrian arena, and a swimming pool. Last year, the "Labor Reserves" sports complex was modernized.

Currently, the reconstruction of the "Octopus" aquapark is actively continuing. Work is underway on facade finishing, utility network installation, floor laying, and pool design.

Upon completion of construction, the total area of the aquapark will double and exceed 9 thousand square meters. The water zone area will triple and amount to over 1 thousand square meters. The facility will be able to accommodate up to 500 visitors simultaneously.

The ground floor will house an aqua zone with a wave pool, adult jacuzzis, a pool with water slides, a children's pool, as well as a food court with 100 seats.
