    K. Abdrakhmanov participates in Turkic Council CFM Meeting

    BISHKEK, September 2, 2018, - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Abdrakhmanov participated in the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS, Turkic Council). The meeting was held on the eve of the 6thCCTS Summit to be held in Cholpon-Ata on September 3.

    Ministerial meetings are held on an annual basis to discuss the content and organizational issues related to the preparation of meetings and decisions of the heads of state of the Turkic Council. During the meeting, the ministers agreed on draft agenda and final documents to be signed at the meeting of the Council of Heads of State.

    Following the meeting in Bishkek, a number of agreements and documents of the Turkic Academy and Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, created in 2012 on the initiative of the presidents of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, were signed. These documents regulate the organizational and financial activities of the new Turkic institutions and will contribute to their further fruitful activities for the benefit of the states and peoples of the Turkic world.

    According to a separate decision of the Foreign Ministers of the Turkic Council, Hungary was granted the observer status of the Turkic Academy.

    The Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States was established on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2009 in Nakhichevan (Azerbaijan). Currently the Council includes four states - Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. The Secretariat of the Turkic Council is located in Istanbul (Turkey).
