Independence Day of Kazakhstan is the main national holiday of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This date is celebrated in Kazakhstan annually on December 16. The date for the "Independence Day of Kazakhstan" was not chosen by chance. On December 16, 1991, the Supreme Council of Kazakhstan adopted the law on the Independence and State Sovereignty of the Republic. After the collapse of the USSR, the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic became the last of the union in the post-Soviet space to proclaim its state sovereignty.
Republic Day is the main and only national holiday of the country. On October 25, 1990, by the resolution of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR, a declaration on the state sovereignty of the Kazakh SSR was adopted. With the adoption of this declaration, personal territory, citizenship, state budget, independence in international relations, state symbols proclaiming the sovereignty of Kazakhstan were approved. The sovereignty and integrity of the territory of Kazakhstan were politically, legally and economically substantiated. Five years later, on October 18, by decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, October 25 was declared a national holiday of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Republic Day.
Nauryz is a holiday marking the beginning of the year, which originated in ancient times. According to the modern calendar (March 22), it falls on the equinox. In Old Persian, nawa = new + razanh = sun, which means "new day", and in modern Persian it has the same meaning (no = new + rouz = sun; which means "new day"), that is, "new year". (denotes sunrise) means.
