
Republic Day is the main and only national holiday of the country. On October 25, 1990, by the resolution of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR, a declaration on the state sovereignty of the Kazakh SSR was adopted. With the adoption of this declaration, personal territory, citizenship, state budget, independence in international relations, state symbols proclaiming the sovereignty of Kazakhstan were approved. The sovereignty and integrity of the territory of Kazakhstan were politically, legally and economically substantiated.
Five years later, on October 18, by decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, October 25 was declared a national holiday of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Republic Day.
